In early 2018 we started running some courses such as; Cookery, Computers, Maths and Reading and Writing. The courses are sometimes at our building and sometimes in other buildings.

Below is a list of what courses we have running, look out for the ones that still have places available. If you would like to do a course that is not on this list, let us know and we will try to find it for you.

We will update this page regularly as we have new courses starting often.


  • Basic Cookery

Learn about kitchen equipment and how to prepare snacks and simple meals. This course will also show you how to be safe and clean in the kitchen.

Wednesdays 10.30am – 12.30pm. 12 weeks, starts 6th June at the St James Centre.



  • Using Computers and the Internet

If you know how to use computers a bit but want to learn more skills, this course will be for you. There is a lunch club in the same venue before the course so you can bring lunch to eat.

Thursdays, 1pm – 3pm. 12 weeks, starting 5th July at Woodchurch Methodist Church.



  • How to Run Community Events

Learn how you can organise events in your community. This could be events like a party, gig, fundraiser, stall or fete.

Fridays, 10.30am to 12pm. 5 weeks, starting 20th July at Wirral Mencap.



  • How to get involved in Politics

This course will talk about what parliament is. The tutor will also show you how you can change things that matter to you in your community.

Fridays, 1pm – 2pm. 4 weeks, starting 7th September at Wirral Mencap.



  • Advanced Cookery and Food Safety (Accredited)

Learn how to make simple meals and to follow recipes. You will also learn about how to be clean and safe in the kitchen, when the course is complete you will get a Level 2 Certificate in Food Hygiene and Safety.

Wednesdays, 10.30am to 12.30pm. 12 weeks, starting 12th September at the St James Centre.
