Volunteering at Wirral Mencap can be a very valuable and rewarding experience. We are very fortunate to receive support from a number of fantastic volunteers, but we are always looking for more.

There are a range of volunteering roles available:

  • Volunteer Buddy/Befriender – Enable someone with a learning disability to engage more in their local community by volunteering together or accessing a community activity. Placements are usually for two hours, once a week.
  • Activities Volunteer – Support our social or personal development activities such as the Crossbow Social Club or Gateway Award. This role involves helping to set up and deliver activities, and supporting people with a learning disability to participate.
  • Fundraising/ Events Volunteer – Help out at events now and then, such as fete days, supermarket collections and Wirral Mencap events. You can do as little or as much as you like. We will keep you on our database and contact you when events are coming up. You can decide if you are able to spare a few hours!
  • Reception/ Front of House Volunteer – Help out on reception at our offices in Birkenhead. Greet visitors, answer calls and make people feel welcome. We are looking for people that could do a half day either morning or afternoon.

If you are interested in any of the opportunities outlined above please fill out the form on the right and submit. Someone will be in touch very soon.
