Programme Coordinator (30 hours/week)

A brand new job opportunity at Wirral Mencap has arisen for someone who is passionate about advancing opportunities for people with a learning disability as well as being proactive and organised.

The role has come about through the success of our Gateway Award programme. The Gateway Award is similar in structure to the Duke of Edinburgh Award with bronze, silver and gold levels, each taking a year. It is a multi-activity programme that supports and encourages adults with a learning disability to engage in a range of activities that cover the 5 modules; hobbies, lifestyle, fitness, volunteering and challenge.

At Wirral Mencap we run the programme as a structured day opportunity, one that promotes independence, healthy living and confidence building.  As well as supervise all sessions, the successful candidate will lead on the day-to-day coordination of the programme, in line with the award framework and Wirral Mencap’s values and strategy.

The post is currently available for 30 hours a week, but may become full time shortly. Core hours are Tues – Friday 9-3pm with the rest being flexible.

Administrator (37.5 hours/ week)

We are looking for a highly skilled and personable Administrator to work ‘front of house’ with our clients, volunteers and visitors, as well as providing administrative support to the rest of the staff team. This is an interesting and varied role which will provide the candidate with an opportunity to work at the heart of this thriving and well-respected local charity that transforms the lives of local people with a learning disability.

As the first point of contact in many cases, the candidate must posess and exhibit the organisations core values:

The candidate must be comfortable with competing workloads, deadlines and using their own initiative to solve problems and improve processes. The candidate must have excellent IT skills.
